Welcome to Around the Corner Counselling! Located in the heart of beautiful Old Strathcona, Around the Corner Counselling offers professional psychological services including individual and couples therapy and formal assessment related to a variety of clinical issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, and many others.

Around the Corner Counselling is a small private practice that provides customized, on-demand, exceptional service to each client in a home-like setting. We are currently accepting new clients, so please feel free to explore the site, learn more about us, and let us help you achieve your therapeutic goals. If you would like to book an appointment, please use our Online Portal to book now.

We also offer opportunities for integrative healing through our trusted partners at Elevated Wellness Therapies. In this holistic health centre, we share space with other practitioners offering services including massage therapy, manual osteopathy, cranio-sacral therapy, yoga therapy, and other holistic health therapies. Please check out the Elevated Wellness Therapies website for more information about these practitioners and the services they offer, and consider booking a session with one of them today!

** Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 **

Please note that as a psychological services provider, we are considered an essential service and will remain open throughout the pandemic. At this time, we are assuming that all sessions booked with us will be completed through our online, video-based therapy platform called Doxy.me in order to promote social distancing and reduce risk. However, we are also able to provide sessions in person for those who prefer in person sessions and are low risk (i.e., you have no symptoms of illness, have not travelled in the past two weeks, and have no other reason to self-isolate or quarantine). If you would like to request an in-person session, please contact us via e-mail at info@aroundthecornercounselling.com or by text message at 780-318-1480 to ensure that we book your session as an in-person session. Because our building is currently inaccessible (locked at all times), you will need to text Dr. Johnson when you arrive so she can come down and open the building door to let you in. If she is still in session with the person scheduled before you, you will have to wait outside until she is free to let you in.

In these challenging times, let us all band together to take care of ourselves and each other with kindness and compassion.
